New Gates for St Lawrence Church

Many of you will have noticed the handsome new gates, now set back a little to allow some car parking.  The gates were given by the Gibb family and Francis Hole in memory of Douglas and Bridget Gibb who worshipped at St Lawrence over a number of years and had a great love of the church and of the parish it served.
July 2010. At Last! A big welcome to Paula, our new Vicar.

St Lawrence church was well filled on Saturday morning for the Celebration of a New Ministry and to welcome Paula Hollingsworth as Priest in Charge of Westbury-sub-Mendip with Easton and Priddy.  The congregation, heralded by the bells of St Lawrence Church, included numerous local clergy, and was drawn from far and near; not only from our three parishes but also from Keynsham and Leicester diocese, and even Portugal.

A Church History

There has been a church on this site for at least nine hundred and fifty years, but the oldest parts of the present structure date back to the 12th century.
