| Westbury Bell Ringers |
|
Visitors to the village on Monday evenings and on the first and third Sundays of the month will be gladdened by the sound of the six bells hung in the tower of St Lawrence Church. Our bells are not especially heavy with a tenor bell of just 9cwt and as the saying is “go very well”. Normally eight or nine ringers turn up for our practice on Monday evenings (7.30 – 9.00) followed by social activities in the Westbury Inn. Ringing is a most interesting art, not requiring any great strength but needing concentration. We are always pleased to welcome people who would like to learn and of course any experienced ringer. Any one interested could come along on Monday evenings at 7.30pm. |
