FRIENDLY SOCIETY CLUB DAY & CHURCH FETE: 25-26 MAY 2008

The first day of the Club Day weekend went ahead successfully, in spite of the bad weather, culminating in an interesting and enertaining talk at lunch by local actress Angela Barlow.

By Monday, however, the appalling weather had deteriorated to a point where the sports and Church Fete had to be abandoned. The draw for the Fete raffle will now take place at the Strawberry Tea in the Village Hall, and the organisers are already discussing a posponed Fete later in the Summmer - details of which will be posted as soon as they are available.

History Evening
The Westbury Society is planning a Saturday event in the village hall when you will be able to view old maps and photographs of the village, the various Censuses from 1841 – 1901, the Tithe Apportionment from 1838 which lists every property with its owner and occupier, and the guide to the memorials in the church and churchyard.
